As the post-election dust settles, ID card guru and Big Brother Watch pin-up Meg Hillier MP has emerged with the latest in a series of bonkers proposals to save the NIR.
The Register reports how the pink card toting maniac has refused to accept the abolition of her intrusive lovechild and now has her all-seeing-eye trained on the transgender community; a group who, in her view, simply must benefit from this jumped up driving licence.
On Tuesday she proposed an amendment to the Identity Documents Bill, which is intended to assert the Coalition’s new position on matters like identity cards. She offered,
"Any ID card issued to a transgendered person, which is valid immediately before the day on which this Act is passed, shall continue to be valid until the Secretary of State has laid before both Houses of Parliament a report to the effect that the Secretary of State is satisfied that an identity document in the assigned gender is available for issue to a transgendered person."
Hillier has been a broken record for some time now, but public humiliation only seems to spur her on. From web chat trouncings, to cures for social exclusion she is the political equivalent of a garden moth.
Her flawed proposal was whipped up from the depths of her dreams and represents further nonsense from a stubborn individual who has seen her ambitions crushed in recent months. For her own well-being she should come to terms with the fact that the ID card scheme was an expensive, authoritarian fancy, nobody wanted or needed.

Is she a humanoid? Did nobody upload the "out of government" software-patch yet? How long do the batteries last?
Yeah, leave it Meg, we aren't worth it (and the sky won't fall).

Sounds like a fluffy who doesn't know what she is talking about. Typical loony lefty.
First off, if she wants transgendered people to still have ID cards after everyone else has stopped using them, then it's pretty obvious who the transgenedered people are. So the purpose of having two cards to switch identities becomes pointless, or even worse. Therefore she's stupid.
Secondaly, she doesn't know any transgendered people. Nor has she spoken to any. She just believes that she must do something for them. A typical lefty. Doesn't think. In all likelyhood such non-thinking probably offends the very people she thinks she is helping. If she had spoken to any transgendered person, she would have found that they like to switch identities at a set time. They can have a proper "birth" day then. In the meantime, it's pretty obvious to all and sundry that they are in the process of changing as part of the "requirements" to get surgery on the NHS is to show that you are living as the other sex. So no need to have a secret identity. So she's stupid.
Thirdly. She's Stupid.

Hang on - a transgendered person can already have a card in, say, male, then get another one in female.
So remind me what was the main purpose of identity cards ?

Having the identity is important but sometimes people changed but it is important to keep those important documents for the reference if something changed. Identification cards are important to notice or identify the person.

Oh Can I have 2 ID cards?
One for day to day life and one for the nights out on the town?
