Below is a great shot sent in recently by a Big Brother Watch supporter which we thought we'd share with you. It's the handwritten note that really makes it a classic.

A good spot from BBW's eagle eyed readers.
The smoking ban has no doubt be adopted with glee by every closet authoritarian, especially those in the public sector. One disturbing factor I have noticed is that the "jobsworth" culture has seeped into the private sector. For example in going back to the bar recently I extinguished the lit end of a cigarette and was poking out the side of my mouth ready to relit once again outside. I was asked to take it out of my mouth and not display it. Also many publicans ban electronic cigarettes. The basic principle is that a battery heats up and liquifies dissolved nicotine. They are entirely legal, safe and do not challenge the smoking ban.
Also has anyone noticed at closing time a polite request to leave has descended into being frogmarched out of the door?

It isn't against the law to smoke in those premises.
It is against the law for the "space owner" to allow you to smoke in those premises.
Big difference

The sign is wrong. As Dave says, it is not illegal to SMOKE an Ecig.

We have these signs all over my flats: are the signs a legal requirement? They're a fucking eyesore.
